Panasonic is a brand name that has been around for years in electronics. Their noise cancelling headphones offer some competition to more well known brands such as the Bose Quiet Comfort. The Panasonic RP-HC500 are comfortable over the ear headphones that off excellent sound quality while providing noise cancellation. Audiophiles may notice a difference but the average listener will thoroughly enjoy these headphones.

Of course the main feature of these headphones is the noise cancellation feature. Outside noise is blocked out by completely covering your ears and by the active noise cancellation feature. The active noise cancellation feature works by using microphones to record outside noise and then the headphones play back the opposite sound through drivers to cancel sound out.

The Panasonic RP-HC500 headphones produce a nice smooth flowing sound. Overall sound is a good quality with the basses being low and the highs being bright. The headphones do fit snug but are still extremely comfortable. Some additional features is that they provide noise reduction is around 90%, there is a plugin adaptor for airplane travel, uses AAA batteries with a approximate life of 40 hours, and the noise cancellation can be turned off or on.

In conclusion, these noise cancelling headphones are very reasonable for the features they provide. They are direct competition for the higher priced Bose Quiet Comfort. I would definitely recommend looking into a pair of these headphones.
